Prajoth D’sa is a new generation singer, songwriter, composer and musician with a great passion for singing and music.

A Software Engineer by profession, he was born and raised in Udupi, the temple town in the southern Indian State of Karnataka. Gifted with a very unique, attractive and clear textured voice, his singing is soulful and one can sense the feel he puts in his songs. His very distinct style of singing has not only earned him many fans all around the world but also helped him gain a lot of popularity on the social media. Prajoth, who plays the guitar and the piano, loves to perform and connect with the audience through his songs. He firmly believes that music is a universal language with no boundaries.

Prajoth completed his schooling from the prestigious Milagres Institutions in Kallianpur. He holds a degree in Software Engineering from Moodlakatte Institute of Technology, Kundapur and an MBA in Information Systems from Sikkim Manipal University. He presently works as a Senior Software Engineer in Bangalore.

Prajoth has sung a series of reprises, cover songs and originals that are regularly updated on this webpage as well as on his YouTube and Facebook pages. Some of his covers include Mera Mann-Acapella, Tu Jo Mila, Bol Do Na Zara, Samjhawa Ki, Baarish, Main Dhoondne Ko, Raabta, Tum Hi Ho, Be Intehaan, Ishq Wala Love-Acapella, Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si, Abhi Abhi, Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin, Mere Bina, Judai and Tu Jaane Na among others.

He is the first person in Karnataka and one among many artists from all over India to have recorded an Acapella, a form of music produced without the use of musical instruments. He has so far produced and recorded five Acapella tracks out of which three are Hindi covers and two Konkani originals.

Popularly known as the “Sonu Nigam of Coastal Karnataka”, Prajoth has lent his voice as a playback singer to Kannada, Tulu and Konkani movies. He has also written, composed and sung for a Bollywood tele film ‘Kuch Alagsa’. Prajoth is well versed performing Bollywood, Indi Pop, Kannada, English and other tracks with various genres ranging from ballads to rock and reggae to disco. His original songs include “Aa Paas Aa”, “Vaada Karo” and “Rang Do” (A collaboration with Vanil Veigas which is composed by the Grammy® 2015 Winner Ricky Kej from Bangalore).

Prajoth has been a part of the track Desh Ko Hai Bharosa, a World Cup initiative by Luminous in association with Sachin Tendulkar. He was also one among many artists all over India to recreate the track “Don’t worry be happy” as a part of World Music Day 2014.

In 2013, Prajoth released his debut Konkani album ‘Udi Udi’ with ten different genres of music in it. Songs from this album were nominated in three different categories at the Global Konkani Music Awards. The album became an instant hit and is said to have hit record sales in Konkani music history. Udi Udi has been made available on iTunes, Amazon Mp3 and more for digital distribution.

Prajoth was consecutively nominated thrice in the Best Singer – Male category at the Global Konkani Music Awards, Mangalore since 2013.

In April 2016, he won the Best Male Singer and Best Song awards for his song “Vaada Karo” at the 5th Artist Aloud Music Awards held in Mumbai.

Prajoth has his own home studio setup called “PAD Studios” where he takes up all his private recordings and music production activities. He has more recently taken to writing, an interest he has always had besides singing. His first article “Killer Roads”, a tribute to accident victims appeared on www.daijiworld.com in June 2016.
